As a guy in his early 40s who weighs 260 at 5’10” (how’s that for honesty?), I’ve been on a “yo-yo dieting” cycle for quite a while now. It’s been a long time since I’ve truly felt comfortable in my own skin. So about a month ago, though I still had lingering hopes of shedding some pounds, I realized my goals needed to shift first. I needed to improve my relationship with food before I could move forward with anything else.
I didn’t know if anything existed out there to help me with this goal, but I thought it was worth looking into. I was happy to find Top Nutrition Coaching’s program and decided to give it a try.
So now, after my first 30 days with Top Nutrition Coaching., I’m feeling pretty good about my results, and I thought others might benefit from reading my overall review of the Top Nutrition Coaching experience.

Oh yes, and weight loss, too.
The awesome thing is, the company actually matches you to the coach who’s the best fit for you based on your unique challenges and goals when it comes to diet and nutrition. They really want to get to the root cause of your problem and help you to make changes in your lifestyle that are sustainable and lasting.
Let’s dive right into it by looking at the (many) pros and (few) cons of Top Nutrition Coaching:
A Bit About Me
Before we talk about what it was like to work with Top Nutrition Coaching, let me share a little more background with you about what drove me to seek their help in the first place.
As I mentioned before, I’ve been on most of the fad diets out there. For years, my weight has been up and down and all over the place.
After so much dieting, I always labeled food as “good” or “bad” in my head. I actually had developed a fear of “bad” food. Ironically, though I had goals to stick with only “good” food, my mindset made the “bad” food that much more tempting. So whenever I’d give in to temptation, I’d end up overeating. And then I’d regret it and try to repent for my misdeeds by eating strictly and too little later on.
Totally backwards, right? But I’m sure I’m not the only one out there who’s had this problem.
Despite my crazy weight fluctuations and issues with food, I have had one good thing going for me and that is the fact that I’m a pretty avid walker. About 4 times a week, I’ll take a long, brisk walk around the reservoir in Central Park. I really enjoy getting out in the fresh air and just letting my mind wander.
My Experience with Top Nutrition Coaching
Since I was finally starting to understand my poor relationship with food, when I went looking for help this time, I felt that I had a better idea of what to look for. I was finally focusing on the right things—the root of the problem.
I found Top Nutrition Coaching after extensive searching for various types of diet help. I completed the questionnaire. on their website that assesses my specific challenges and goals with my diet. After that, I was prompted to schedule a call with a specialist. They chatted with me about my questionnaire answers and then matched me with a coach based on what I needed most.
One of the first things I decided to do with my coach was some blood testing. Yep, Top Nutrition Coaching actually offers home blood lab tests to make sure cortisol, lipids, hormones, and vitamins are all within a healthy range. I thought that could be a good place to start—to rule out any other issues.
And, just as I suspected, all my labs were within acceptable parameters.
The coach stressed to me that changing my behavior and views on food is gonna take some time, patience, and effort. It’s not something that just happens overnight. I appreciated that—I’ve seen what happens when I’ve tried to find a quick solution to my health challenges. Those changes never last. But this time around, I was in it for the long haul and ready to move forward.
My coach worked with me to improve my diet—not just for weight, but for energy levels and total wellbeing, too. We set an overarching goal to start us off, and then had weekly check-ins to assess progress and set subgoals to work toward. She would also provide me with resources and content relevant to what I was working on or struggling with.
Top Nutrition Coaching even offers to help out with the meal planning process as much as you want. At first, I was just using their help to plan my meals. Eventually, I took advantage of their offer to order groceries for me. It’s been super convenient to not have to worry about that weekly grocery trip!
I’ve also really enjoyed being able to text in at any time of the day to get support and answers to my random questions that come up. It just made me feel like I had someone in my corner, rooting for me constantly.
Results and Lessons Learned
When my 2-week trial came to an end, I decided to continue with the program. It’s now been 30 days, and I’m planning to stick with them a little longer. I’ve been very happy with the progress I’ve made.
I even happened to shed several pounds during the last month. But the best part of it is, that really wasn’t my primary goal. My Top Nutrition Coaching coach and I have not been so focused on how I look, but more on how I feel. Our purpose has been to provide my body with the fuel that it needs. I can splurge if I want to—it’s not off-limits—but I have the motivation to manage my portions without feeling deprived or overly tempted.
Working with Top Nutrition Coaching has taught me a few lessons. I’ve learned that healthy living is not so much about labeling food as good or bad. It’s not about finding a quick fix to lose weight. It’s about consistency and balance. It’s about forming habits that can be maintained throughout a lifetime.
I feel I’ve established some of those habits. My relationship with food has improved significantly. My body image has become so much more positive and my confidence boosted. I look forward to solidifying these healthier mindsets and behaviors even more as I continue with my Top Nutrition Coaching coach into the future.
