Causes of blurred vision and nausea include high blood pressure, low blood pressure, consumption of alcohol and fibromyalgia. People who have type 2 diabetes may experience these symptoms. High and low blood pressure can cause many problems. Low blood pressure usually is not a real danger until it is accompanied by blurred vision and nausea or other symptoms. Disease, genetics, stress, blood loss and lack of nutrients are all culprits in high and low blood pressure.

Alcohol also can be to blame for blurred vision and nausea. When a person drinks alcohol, it is absorbed into the stomach and small intestine. The alcohol changes the way the central nervous system works, causing the person to feel drunk. Many times, the person will also experience vomiting, dizziness and slurred speech.

These symptoms also can be blamed on alcohol-related dehydration. A person can easily become dehydrated while consuming alcohol, because it keeps certain hormones from reproducing, causing a person to urinate frequently. The drinker often is unaware of the potential for dehydration, believing his alcohol consumption is keeping him properly hydrated.

Fibromyalgia is a disorder that causes a wide range of symptoms, including blurred vision and nausea, making it hard for sufferers to go about their normal lives. People with fibromyalgia may experience frequent headaches, constant fatigue, and may hurt all over the body. Others may experience dizziness, whether for a couple of minutes or a couple of days. The dizziness can lead to nausea and vision problems. Fibromyalgia requires medical treatment that may include prescription medication, plenty of rest and therapy.

The symptoms are often mistaken for other illnesses or are not recognized as signs of the disease. Many people with type 2 diabetes do not know they have it until they develop more serious symptoms such as chest pain, a stroke or dehydration.

Unless someone got those conditions intentionally through drinking, they are serious if they go on for a long time and should be treated quickly. Everyone experiences these conditions to some degree or another and they are natural in the short term. When they become long term conditions, they may point to an underlying problem.
